May Miller-Dawkins is the Director, Governance and Transparency, at The B Team. She is responsible for the overall strategy of The B Team’s Governance and Transparency Initiative and leads strategic influencing and coalition building with business and civil society networks.

May is a skilled researcher and advocate experienced in facilitating networks and multi-stakeholder initiatives. From 2004 – 2011, she worked for Oxfam Australia, first coordinating Oxfam International’s flagship global youth program, and then establishing and leading Oxfam Australia’s Research Unit. In that role, she led a team supporting staff and civil society partners across Asia-Pacific and sub-Saharan Africa to strengthen their programs and advocacy work using research. She led international research and advocacy efforts, including Oxfam International’s research into the human impacts of the financial crisis in twelve countries and resulting influence on national government and international institution’s responses.

May worked as a strategy and research consultant from 2012-2017 including as Research Director of Corelab in New York. She worked with civil society, business and universities to develop effective advocacy strategies and produce applied research that influenced public policy. She worked with a range of organisations including Global Witness, Transparency International, Overseas Development Institute, University of Melbourne, The Malala Fund, New York University and Rhize. She started working with The B Team as a strategy consultant in 2014 and worked to develop the Governance and Transparency Initiative since its inception. She joined as full-time Director in January 2017.
