The B Team is looking for a Strategist to join our team. This is an exciting position that spans our campaign and programmatic efforts to drive business as a force for good in building a more inclusive economy. The Strategist will focus on integrating human rights across our agenda, including in our efforts on just transition, sustainability and workplace equality. They will also contribute to company engagement more broadly, in support of The B Team strategy.

As a B Team Strategist, you will be an integral part of The B Team staff. You will be managed by the Strategy Lead but will work with every member of the team. You are a proactive, strategic thinker who has programmatic and advocacy experience. You have worked across sectors and stakeholders. You are excited to support B Team leaders in their ambition to change economic systems, and ready to engage a range of coalition partners to help make that happen. You are comfortable writing, communicating and convening. You welcome variety in your job and can handle the unexpected. About The B Team

The B Team is a global collective of business and civil society leaders working to create new norms of corporate leadership that help build a more inclusive economy. Together, these leaders promote a new way of doing business—one that measures success not only by financial performance, but also by the health of people and our planet—for the benefit of generations to come. Our staff team of approximately 20 supports The B Team leaders in their strategy and ambition.

Our work in support of B Team leaders is shaped by a multi-year strategy that aims to drive business and government action across a range of themes, including: just transition and net zero emissions, protecting nature, human rights, responsible tax, gender balance, racial/ethnic diversity, ESG integration, anti-corruption, digital governance & more.

Working across The B Team, Strategist responsibilities will include:

  • Lead on human rights, with a focus on integrating human rights across our work

  • Play an active role in developing and carrying out our campaigns, including contributing to our ESG-focused campaign ‘Right the Rules’.

  • Maintain and build strong relationships with company, civil society and organizational partners, including B Team company partners

  • Develop advocacy strategies and help colleagues to identify and deliver on advocacy opportunities across the organization

  • Contribute to fundraising efforts and report on existing grants

  • Raise the profile of The B Team’s work externally in line with the organization’s wider communication efforts


  • 5 or more years experience in business and human rights, sustainability or public policy fields, ideally including experience in the private sector/consulting

  • Advanced skills in program development, management and reporting, including shaping and running events

  • Track record in advocacy on business-relevant issues

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Awareness of relevant NGOs, international organizations and multi-stakeholder settings -- and experience building partnerships across sectors

  • Knowledge of fundraising for the non-profit sector

  • Familiarity with business leadership, business for change, economic system change and business and human right agenda -- and passion to learn more

What we offer

GBP 60k per annum.

Job Requirements: This position is a full time role. The right to work either in the US or the UK is preferred. The Strategist will work in a global team across time zones and must be able to work core hours that roughly cover EST/GMT time zones.

Our Work Environment: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are location flexible, with many B Team staff working remotely, although we do have access to offices for those located in/near London. Support can be provided by The B Team as needed, to ensure that remote working conditions are sufficient for successful engagement in the role. The manager for this position is located in Berlin, Germany.
